Malak’s work as an Educational Ranger for the National Park Service has given her the opportunity to live and work in the Grand Canyon, Mt. Rainier, Death Valley, and Denali. Her entry into the Park Service began with the Greening Youth Foundation, designing and leading opportunities for under-represented youth in Teton County and Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. As a student at K, Malak participated in the LandSea Adirondack Expedition trip and then served as a Trip Leader in 2016 and 2018, and a Logistics Leader in 2019. She was a captain for the Swim team, studied abroad in Thailand, and majored in Political Science. One of Malak’s goals is to someday hike the Lebanese Mountain Trail to reconnect with her homeland and heritage.

Hannah’s work as a backpacking and climbing guide has taken her from the Midwest, to California, to the desert Southwest. While at K College – when not playing lacrosse and soccer or heading up the American Sign Language Club – Hannah took every opportunity to get outside with Outdoor Programs, and served on the Logistics team for LandSea in 2021. She took leave of absence during her time at K to take part in the National Outdoor Leadership School’s Wilderness Rescue Semester, gaining her Wilderness EMT and Leave No Trace Level II Instructor, along with other valuable outdoor leadership and rescue experience. She graduated in 2021 with a major in Biology and a minor in Psychology. Hannah hopes one day to complete the Tour du Mont Blanc in the Alps.

In her role as Outdoor & Environmental Coordinator, Greta shares her time between the Outdoor Programs office, the Environmental Stewardship Center, and the Lillian Anderson Arboretum. During the summer, Greta coordinates the LandSea Kalamazoo trip. As a student, Greta participated in the LandSea Adirondack Expedition trip, worked in the Gear Room, was a LandSea Trip Leader in 2019 and 2021, and was a LandSea Logistics Leader in 2022. She graduated that same year with a dual major in Spanish and Psychology. If you ever find yourself in Greta’s home state of Minnesota, she highly recommends you check out the Minnesota State Fair and experience the “Butter Capital of the Nation” through it’s impressive butter sculpting.
