Trips and Programs

Outdoor Programs offers trips, events, and programs ranging from long to short, near and far, and all are fantastic outdoor adventure and educational opportunities at reasonable costs to our student community.


LandSea Our 18-day long First-Year Orientation program that takes place in August and brings students to the Adirondack mountains of New York.


Winter Break Trips Our week-long trips take place in December and brings students around the country.


Spring Training Our outdoor leadership training trip takes place over spring break in March and brings students to Kentucky for education on outdoor adventuring skills.

Wilderness Medicine Our two-part training series for Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder certifications typically occur in March and June.


P.E. Classes We offer several credit-worthy classes centered around outdoor activities such as indoor rock climbing, snowshoeing, backpacking, and more! These classes are open to all students. Some classes may be limited by season.

Events and Programs We offer a variety of weekly and pop-up outdoor opportunities for students on-campus. Interested in a particular event, trip, or programs? Reach out to us and we’ll see what we can do to make it happen!

Kalamazoo Outing Club Our student-run organization provides low- to no-cost trip opportunities for K students. Former trips have included weekend camping, indoor rock climbing, day hikes, afternoon paddling events, and more.
